"Manny thanks for your offer to modify the programme which handles the Wire data Base, it will be far better for us to input the range of wires we use.

We have now been using the computer programme sice later part of November and, with your help, via the fax machine, have made good progress in becoming familiar with them. It is the clearance programme together with the Wire Data Base that will be using most over the next few months, but once the wire rationalisation exercise is complete, then our attention will turn to the other programmes.

There is no doubt the programmes are extensive and very powerful, using them has not been a problem but because of our mathematical short comings, understanding some of the concepts is taking us a little longer to grasp. Nevertheless, even at this stage we can certainly complete the task for wich the software was purchased, and then look forward to using the design programmes, by wich time another visit yourself may be the order of the day.

Best regards

"We hereby certify that the computer aided steel wire rope design programme ROPES by Mr Javier Jimenez Atienza in course of the use of it since the beginning of 1995 has proven many times its great helpfulness int he designing process of steel wire ropes.

The ROPES programme has been modified to some extent during this time acc. to the particular needs od Drumet. Some options of it have been extended so as to meet additional requirements from peculiarities od the production in Poland.

The programme practicaly made it possible to eliminate expensive technological tests at introducing a new production or technological changes in existing products. Now all the technological modifications conc. steel wire ropes are at first being subjected to thorough analysis using the computer aided steel wire rope design programme. Diversified designing with graphical presentation of the results on the monitor display in the form of drawing of rope and strand sections enables the best posiible determination of the final construction of a rope wich has been ordered for production.

The ROPES programme showed its usefullness especially at designing the complicated multilayer ropes (e.g. WS 8 x 31 + IWRC (WS 6 x 31 + FC) and the ropes with limited dimensional tolerance of wires (half the value required by DIN 2078) or a finished rope. i.e. -0%+3%.

" With respect to the expectation of results of the wire calculate system, we think that is positive and it has satisfied us in a great percentage of cases. The cases of calculations that we have had problems we have let them know via fax or by telephone and are on which you have worked on.

Considering the distances that separate to us, we have been taken care of until now with great speed and the created problems have been solved properly.
